Light fighter is a classification of pilotable ships in the Sirius sector. It is a fighter built for agility.
Introduction[]
A light fighter is classified by the fact that it usually holds 4 weapon mounts along with (usually) a mount for a cruise disruptor. A light fighter is also known for the fact that it comes with higher agility and lower price when compared with a heavy fighter of its class. This also means that less cargo space is provided.
Being a fighter with enhanced agility, a light fighter is highly potent in an intercepting other ships as well as engaging into dogfights.
House light fighters are known to be used by house police. As a result, this kind of fighter is easily seen in almost every house systems.

Note[]
The Star light fighter series (including the starflier and startracker) are notable exceptions in this category. The reason is that both of them mounts only 3 weapons. Also, a cruise disruptor mount is missing.
Most of the known light fighters cannot carry turrets except the Borderworld Series X Dagger and the Pirate Bloodhound light fighter.

Most light fighters mounts 4 guns of various classes, along with a fighter shield and a cruise disruptor. Depending on the build, some fighters are capable of carrying a turret as well.
